What is RegattAlly?
RegattAlly is a Firefox browser Add-On designed to help you manage regatta race results efficiently. It provides features for recording race data, managing boat statuses, generating rankings and exporting race results in CSV format.
Download the Add-On
Download the latest pre-release version from this site and follow the instructions displayed by the browser.Upon successful installation, you should see a timer icon
in the top right corner. If not, click the jigsaw icon to open the Extensions manager, locate the Add-on and pin it to the task bar.
RegattAlly is not yet officially released. After release, RegattAlly will be available from the Mozilla Add-Ons page.
Key Features
- Race result recording: Record finish times with a single click.
- Boat status recording: Record the status of each boat (OCS, DNS, DNF etc.).
- Ranking: Display and download autogenerated ranking.
- Yardstick regatta support: Automatically compute ranking based on corrected times.
How to Use
- Navigate to an event on manage2sail and click the timer icon.
For each regatta in the event, a new tab will open. Navigate to the desired tab and select 'Start & Finish' recording or 'Mark Protocol'. - Press Start button to start a new race. The start time is displayed. Close the popup.
- Double-click or tap a boat in the Racing list to mark it as finished.
- Enter sail number digits in the filter to quickly find a boat.
Press Enter on the sail number filter to mark the boat as finished. - If many boats cross the line in a short time, use the Add timestamp button to create up to 8 timestamps as each boat crosses. Then drag a timestamp on a boat to finish the boat with this timestamp.
- Press the Finish Race button to finish a race. Boats without a finish time and/or status will be set to 'DNF'.
- The current ranking is displayed on the Finished Races tab along with individual race results.
Tie-breaking and one discard after four races is implemented. See below for details. - Click the Export Data button to download race results in CSV format.
Exported Data
The exported data includes:
- Summary table with skipper name, sail number, boat name, club name, class, yardstick, race ranks, and total score.
- Individual race details, including elapsed time, adjusted time (ElapsedYS), and boat status.
